Unlock New Perspectives at Kruger Shalati
A shift in our surroundings often sparks new perspectives, especially when that new setting is in nature—a place of absolute beauty, iconic in essence and extraordinary in vision.…
August and September are magical and mindful times at Kruger Shalati, where the wonders of the African wilderness come alive in the most spectacular ways. Wildlife sightings become more frequent as the dry season continues in August, making your safari experience even more thrilling. It is also the time when the controlled burning of sections in the Kruger is scheduled. It helps reduce the risk of wildfires by eliminating dry and dead vegetation that could fuel uncontrolled fires. It promotes the growth of new, nutritious grass shoots, benefiting grazing animals. The clean air with some smoke makes for dramatic sunsets, resulting in the most beautiful photos taken by our guests.
The transition from winter to spring is a powerful time for mental rejuvenation. Being in nature, specifically in the African bushveld, brings a natural realignment of priorities in our lives. The voices of the world that push us in many directions quiet down as you reconnect with nature and focus on what matters in life. It’s a beautiful moment when all your wants quiet down, and the things you really need become clear. It truly is a season that brings renewed energy and an improved mood.
It’s almost impossible not to be in a good mood while staying in our paradise! Imagine waking up in your luxury train carriage on the Sabie Bridge, overlooking the Sabie River. Just before sunrise, the sky is painted pink and orange. You rise peacefully, brew a coffee, and walk onto your balcony. The air is fresh, the hippos honk and the big round African sun slowly creeps up from the horizon. It’s more than tranquillity; it is the peace you’ve longed for. Your mind has quieted down. In this moment, you discover why Kruger Shalati is a place like no other
Before breakfast, a bubble bath or refreshing shower overlooking the river awaits you. The staff at Shalati already feel like family, and you know this will be a mindful, present, wonderful day ending with a game drive and a boma under the African stars. It is a day to feast on life, not to mention the excellent food prepared by the best chefs.
Being able to welcome you to Kruger Shalati is a dream come true. It is a place like no other for our guests and the local communities we support. With an unemployment rate of 52% in the area, poverty is a significant issue, and a project like Kruger Shalati has a massive positive impact on the community. We employ 60% of our staff locally and provide the education needed for individuals to learn and thrive in the hospitality industry. It is a beautiful picture of hope restored in a community that has struggled for a long time. One of the projects close to our hearts is the Nzalama Home-Based Care Centre, which looks after 285 children, many of whom are orphans and vulnerable. These children desperately need food and care, which we provide as much as possible. Your stay helps support and uplift these projects. Being mindful of your contribution not only supports our community but also enhances your own well-being. Helping others and giving back can profoundly boost your mental health. We even had guests who went the extra mile and supported our communities directly after their stay with us! Our community tours are an ideal way to learn more and get involved, should you wish.
As the season changes, take time to rejuvenate your body, mind, and soul in one of the most iconic places in the world. We can’t wait to welcome you, look after you, and ensure that your time with us at Kruger Shalati will give you memories for many years.
